Creative Arts and Humanities – Wednesday 16th June 2010
Day 3 of Transition Week and we’ve had the opportunity to work with another wonderful and creative group of young people. Everyone was a bit nervous this morning but have settled down well and produced some excellent work.
Group one today have worked with Mts Turrell and have produced some brilliant Art work – the peacock is coming along nicely with its fabulous coloured feathers. Group two have been working with Mrs Stebbing and done some wonderful work.
Group three have produced some excellent key fobs and mobile phone charms on the laser cutter with the help of Miss Hillyard. And group four have continued a theme from earlier in the week by creating scenes of Sri Lanka awe and wonder with Miss Spedding.
Well done everyone for your hard work today and we’re looking forward to seeing you again in the morning. Fingers crossed the sunshine comes with you again!

Hi, I just wanted to let you know my son Josh Maxwell was part of the art group involved with the peacock and as he is a buddy artist he thought this was amazing. In fact he enjoyed all 3 days and can’t wait for September. So much so he didn’t want to go back to his primary school this morning. Doing this transition time has not only done wonders for Josh but also for us his parents. To see him come home so full of enthusiam about the school is making the big jump from ‘big fish in a little pond’ to ‘little fish in a big pond’ all that easier. Thanks to all the staff and students involved with all the kids all week and I hope Josh’s enthusiam continues once he starts officially in September. Kind Regards, Lynne Maxwell
