IB Reflective Learners
At St. Robert’s, we aim to foster in all pupils the traits and skills that will equip them to do whatever they want in their lives and to help them find what that is.
Reflection is a the heart of learning. Without refflection, education can become just instruction and understanding can become rote-learning.
The IB model for education incorporates reflection into everthing that is done. The Theory of Knowledge course leads the way. This compulsory part of the core ask students to place themselves as a “knower” in the centre of their learning. They must question everything: Is what my teacher says true? Why have my teachers told me that the angles in a triangle add up to 180 degrees when they don’t. How can we use our knowledge of History in the present day?
