Pastoral

Pastoral Care

The responsibility for the overall progress and welfare of pupils is in the hands of the Heads of Year, assisted by the teaching staff attached to each year for pastoral purposes. In addition, pupils’ initial placement in years 7 and 8 and progress thereafter is monitored by a Deputy Head.

The Sixth Form is under the supervision of the Head of Sixth Form.

Arrangements for Pupils with Special Education Needs

Pupils who experience problems with basic learning skills and who require more individualised programmes of work are catered for by withdrawal or classroom support. Progress is continually reviewed.

Specialists through a variety of contact arrangements sustain pupils in Upper School groups who still require assistance.

Should further and more specialised assistance be required, reference can be made to the Authority’s Education Psychology Service.
