At Key Stage 4 the work experience scheme is a non statutory opportunity for students to gain experience with a variety of employers and organisations. Some students are selected to undertake programmes of extended work experience or personalised learning programmes. They continue to work towards achieving in the core subjects and retain those options that relate to their future career choices. Integrated into the school week are blocks of work experience and time within small groups, with extensive support to ensure continuing progress in their school subjects. From 2015, Year 10 students will have the opportunity to gain work experience placements during the school activities week in the Summer term. Until then, any Key Stage 4 students wishing to organise work experience may do so in consultation with their Head of Year.
